Nelly Busted on Drug Possession

St. Louis rapper Cornell Haynes, also known as Nelly, was busted on simple possession of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. A Media News Release from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. According to the document, Trooper Michael Loftis and Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Donald Jennings pulled over the tour bus for failing to display U.S. Department Of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association stickers. While examining the vehicle, officials smelled marijuana and proceeded to search the bus finding methamphetamine, small amounts of marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. Officials also found a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a 45-caliber Tarus pistol, and a 500 magnum Smith and Wesson, which did not belong to the musician. Nelly spent Saturday morning in jail until a $10,000 bail was posted for him. The rapper is still scheduled to appear in court June 19.
